Left-winger Don Howse played half a season with the LA Kings in 1979-80. He was a consistent goal scorer in a lengthy minor league career spent chiefly in the AHL.

Born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Howse played with the home town Cataracts in 1968-69 before spending two years with the OHA's Ottawa 67's. He returned to Grand Falls to play for the local senior team then played a year with the Greensboro Generals of the Eastern League before signing with the Montreal Canadiens in June 1973.

Howse spent six years as a regular with the Vees and helped them win the Calder Cup in 1976 and 1977. He also topped the 20-goal mark twice but was unable to crack the Habs' deep roster. In October, 1979, Howse signed as a free agent with LA. and recorded seven points in 33 games as a spare forward. He also averaged over a point per game for the Binghamton Whalers of the AHL then spent one more year in the minors before returning home to play senior hockey. Howse began the 1981-82 season with the Port-aux-Basques Mariners then stepped down to take over as coach of the Stephenville Jets.
