Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Tim Hrynewich
Left-winger Tim Hrynewich spent parts of two seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the early 80s. He was a top point producer in junior and played several years in the minors.

Born in Leamington, Ontario, Hrynewich, was chosen 38th overall by Pittsburgh in 1982 while he was in the midst of registering three straight 20-goal seasons for the OHL's Sudbury Wolves. Part way through his final junior season in 1982-83, the young forward was called up to play 30 games in the NHL. The next season he played 25 games for the club and scored nine points.

Following their last place finish in 1983-84, the Penguins re-shaped their squad. Hrynewich no longer fit into the club's plans and settled into a career in the IHL until retiring in 1989. Highlights of this portion of his career included helping the Muskegon Mohawks reach the Turner Cup final in 1985 and scoring 39 goals for the Milwaukee Admirals in 1986-87.
