Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Tim Jacobs
A sound defensive defenceman, Tim Jacobs played half a season with the California Golden Seals in the mid-1970s. In the minors his play and his statistics were steady if unremarkable.

The native of the northern Ontario town of Espanola played his junior hockey with the St. Catharines Black Hawks of the OHA. He was California's 5th choice, 70th overall, in the 1972 Amateur Draft. Following three years of seasoning with the Salt Lake Golden Eagles of the WHL and the Springfield Indians of the AHL, Jacobs played 46 games for the Seals in 1975-76, recording ten assists. Although this represented his only year in the league, Jacobs was a part of history since this was the last year of the California franchise. Jacobs played three and a half more years in the minors before retiring in 1979.
