Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Frank Jerwa
Frank Jerwa played left wing and defence for the Boston Bruins and St. Louis Eagles in the 1930s. He was also a consistent scorer in the minors especially in the Pacific Coast League.

The native of Bankhead, Alberta played a year in the Regina City League before joining the Vancouver Lions of the Northwest circuit. He played nearly three years there and was joined by his cousin Frank Jerwa in the 1929-30 season. On April 15, 1931 he was sold by the Lions to the NHL's Boston Bruins. Jerwa split two seasons between the Bruins and the Boston Cubs of the CanAm League before becoming a full time farmhand. After a trade brought him to the St. Louis Eagles, Jerwa recorded eleven points in 16 games in the latter half of the 1934-35 season.

Jerwa played six years in the minors before retiring in 1941. He topped the 40-point mark three times including the 1935-36 season when he excelled for the New Haven Eagles and was voted on to the CanAm league second all-star team. Jerwa went out on a high note by scoring 27 goals for the PCHL's Vancouver Lions in 1940-41.
