Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Hobie Kitchen
A stocky defenceman, Hobart Kitchen played a season each with the Montreal Maroons and Detroit Cougars in the 1920s. He was also a respected senior and minor pro player during his eight-year association with the game.

The Toronto native played junior with the city's well-known Aura Lee club of the OHA. He then moved on to the OHA senior level with the Toronto St. Mary's and Niagara Falls Cataracts squads. In 1925-26 he joined the Montreal Maroons in their second year and played 30 games. He didn't see any playoff action but was on hand as a reserve when the club won the Stanley Cup that year.

Kitchen joined the Detroit Cougars (later Falcons then Red Wings) in 1926-27 for 17 contests. He also played six matches with the New Haven Eagles of the CanAm League. After two seasons in the Can-Pro League with the Kitchener Millionaires and Niagara Falls Cataracts, Kitchen retired in 1929.
