Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ike Klingbeil
Defenceman Ike Klingbeil played five contests for the Chicago Black Hawks in 1936-37. He was also an accomplished player in college, the old Michigan-Ontario league and at the senior level.

He was a native of Hancock, Michigan just a few miles from Houghton, the birthplace of the International Hockey League. Although he was near Michigan Tech University, he opted to study and play hockey with the University of Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbour.

Beginning in 1933-34, Klingbeil played three seasons in the Michigan-Ontario league with three different Detroit teams--the Mundus, Farm Crest, and Tool Shop. He played five games in the NHL on the Chicago Black Hawks' blueline in 1936-37 and recorded three points. This was followed by a few games with the Portage Lakes Lakers senior outfit later the same year.
