Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Neil Komadoski
During his eight years in the NHL in the 1970s, defenceman Neil Komadoski was a solid player in his own end who was capable of playing physically when necessary. He wasn't flashy but his play was consistent and he did many of the little things to help his teams attain success. His attitude was exemplary and helped unify the dressing room wherever he played.

Komadoski played three years with the hometown Winnipeg Jets in the WCJHL. Following a 15-goal performance in 1970-71, he was claimed 48th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the Amateur Draft. Komadoski was a regular on the L.A. blueline for five and a half seasons and helped the team set a franchise record with 105 points in 1974-75 and come within one win of reaching the semi-finals the next season. Although he was a left-handed shot, much of his work came at right-defence because the Kings lacked depth at that slot. Komadoski was lauded by coaches for accepting this assignment and carrying it out with a minimum of difficulty.

Halfway through the 1977-78 season Komadoski was traded to the St. Louis Blues to help stabilize their blueline. He played his 124 NHL games in Missouri then retired after the 1980-81 season.
