Left-winger Mervin Kuryluk never played a regular season game in the NHL. He was called upon to play two games for the Chicago Black Hawks in the 1961-62 post-season.

The native of Yorkton, Saskatchewan played junior with the hometown Terriers as well as the Moose Jaw Canucks and Melville Millionaires. He began his pro career with the Calgary Stampeders of the WHL in 1956-57 and later saw action with the EPHL's Soo Thunderbirds. It was after scoring 36 goals for the Soo in 1961-62 that Kuryluk was summoned to Chicago. The playoff mercenary also played two Calder Cup games for the Buffalo Bisons that same year.

Kuryluk scored 75 points in 61 games for the St. Louis Braves of the EPHL in 1962-63 and before joining the Bisons for the entire 1963-64 season. He retired after splitting the 1964-65 season in the AHL, CHL, and WHL.
