Defenceman Denis Larocque played eight games for the LA Kings in 1987-88. He was better known as a solid positional player in junior and the minors.
Born in Hawksbury, Ontario Larocque was taken 44th overall by the Kings in 1986 after he helped the OHL's Guelph Platers win the Memorial Cup. He returned to junior for one more season then spent most of his first pro year with the AHL's New Haven Nighthawks. That year he also received an eight-game look in LA but returned to the minors until his retirement in 1993.
Over this span Larocque was a reliable defenceman in four different minor pro leagues. His most significant involvement in the NHL was being part of the trade with the New York Rangers that brought Todd Elik to the West Coast in December 1988.
