Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Bill Lecaine
Left-winger Bill Lecaine played four games with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1968-69. Most of his lengthy pro career was spent in the IHL, particularly on the Port Huron Flags/Wings.

Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Lecaine played junior with the home town Pats then spent a year at the University of North Dakota. During his rookie pro season in 1959-60 he recorded 25 goals for the IHL's Minneapolis Millers and remained with the club for most of the next three seasons. His stellar career with Port Huron began in 1962-63 when he scored 30 goals and made the IHL first all-star team. Lecaine repeated his first all-star team selection three years later after registering 116 points for the Flags and helping the team win the Turner Cup.

Prior to the 1967-68 season, Lecaine was signed by the expansion Pittsburgh Penguins and made it into four games. By the 1969-70 season he was a regular in Port Huron once again and remained there until his retirement in 1975. Lecaine helped the club win two more Turner Cups and was named to the IHL second all-star team in 1973.
