Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Henry Lehvonen
Defenceman Henri Lehvonen played four games for the Kansas City Scouts in 1974-75. Most of his pro career was spent in the minors and Finland.

Born in Sarnia, Ontario, Lehvonen was a solid two way performer in the OHA with the Peterborough Petes and Kitchener Rangers. He was selected 62nd overall by the Minnesota North Stars in 1970 and spent most of his first three pro season with the IHL's Port Huron Flags/Wings. In 1971 he helped the Flags win the Turner Cup but missed out on the team's repeat the next season due to injuries.

Lehvonen's injury bug eventually caused him to sit out the 1973-74 season. He returned to the Port Huron Flags the next season and signed as a free agent with Kansas City. He made it into four big league games before he was reassigned to the Toledo Goaldiggers of the "I". After playing one more season in Port Huron and taking the 1977-78 season off, Lehvonen journeyed to Finland. He spent two years each with Jokerit Helsinki and Ilves Tampere before hanging up his skates for good in 1982.
