Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Dave Logan
Dave Logan was a rugged stay-at-home defenceman who played over 200 games in the 1970s. He played an aggressive style but was not reckless and battled in the slot with many of the league's toughest power forwards.

The Montreal native played in the QMJHL with the Junior Canadiens and the Laval Nationale. He was chosen 88th overall by the Chicago Black Hawks at the 1974 Amateur Draft and assigned to minors the next year. Logan was a solid physical presence on the CHL's Dallas Black Hawks in 1974-75 and continued to work on his game with the club the following season.

The hard-nosed defender split the 1975-76 season between the CHL and Chicago. He was a rugged fifth and sixth defenceman for the Hawks until the early stages of the 1979-80 season. In December 1979, he and Harold Phillipoff were sent to the Vancouver Canucks for scorer Ron Sedlbauer. He played 33 games for his new club the rest of that season but no longer fit into the club's plans by the next winter. Logan joined the Toronto Maple Leafs then the Minnesota North Stars but continued to toil in the minors before retiring in 1983.
