Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Reg Mackey
Defenseman Reg Mackey spent the 1926-27 season with the expansion New York Rangers. He was an excellent skater and goal score who played most of his career in the Can-Am League.

Born in Ottawa, Ontario Mackey began his pro career in the old WCHL/WHL with the Calgary Tigers and Vancouver Maroons. In October, 1926 he was sent to the Rangers for cash and played steadily for the club though he failed to register a point in 34 games.

Beginning in 1927-28, Mackey was a regular for four seasons with the Boston Tigers of the Can-Am League. He accumulated 80 points over this period and helped the club win the Can-Am championship in 1929. Mackey retired in 1934 after playing a few games for the Calgary Tigers of the North West League.
