Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Marc Magnan
Left-winger Marc Magnan was a hard-nosed grinder who played four games for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1982-83. He spent most of his career in the minors where he racked up hundreds of penalty minutes and a decent number of points.

Born in Beaumont, Alberta, Magnan starred with the St. Albert Saints of the AJHL before joining the WHL's Lethbridge Broncos. He was chosen 195th overall by Toronto in 1981 then returned to junior and recorded 33 goals and 406 penalty minutes. As a rookie pro in 1982-83, Magnan played a few games with Toronto but spent most of the year banging into people as a member of the AHL's St. Catharines Saints.

Magnan spent another 4 1/2 years mostly in the IHL before retiring early in the 1987-88 season. During the mid-80s he hit double figures in goals twice for the Indianapolis Checkers and was considered one of the most tenacious competitors in the "I".
