Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Bud Maracle
Left-winger Bud Maracle played briefly with the New York Rangers in 1930-31. Most of his career was spent as an amateur or in the minors, especially the Can-Am League.

Born in Ayr, Ontario, Maracle moved to northern Ontario in his youth and played on the Haileybury High School team in 1921-22. He then spent three years with the NOHA's North Bay Trappers then joined the Toronto Industrial senior club in 1925-26. Maracle then settled down with the Can-Am League's Springfield Indians for five years and helped the team win consecutive championships in 1927 and 1928.

In February, 1931 he was traded by Springfield to the New York Rangers who needed an extra forward for the stretch run of the season. Maracle recorded four points in the last 11 games of the schedule then played four post-season games the Rangers reached the semifinals. Following his NHL tenure, the veteran forward spent some time in the Can-Am League and sat out the 1932-33 season due to injuries. He also spent a couple of years in the AHA as a solid goal scorer on the Tulsa Oilers. Maracle retired in 1939 after laying one year in the MOHL with the Detroit Pontiacs.
