Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Lars Molin
Lars Molin MoDo AIK juniors in Sweden from the age of 17 to 19 and represented his country at the 1976 World Junior Championships. He remained with the MoDo senior team until 1980 and participated in the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid.

Molin signed as a free agent with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks in the summer of 1981 and the team had a preview of his game on North American sized ice when he played for Sweden in the 1981 Canada Cup. He had a relatively strong first season with the Canucks, playing 72 games and contributing 46 points. He also dressed for 17 playoff games as the surprising Canucks marched all the way to the Stanley Cup finals behind the solid netminding of Richard Brodeur, before losing to the defending champion New York Islanders.

Molin remained in the NHL with Vancouver for another two years but missed his homeland and decided to return to Sweden at the conclusion of his contract. By the fall of 1985 he was back playing for MoDo. He also competed in the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, providing a steadying influence for the younger players.

He finished his playing career after the 1990-91 campaign, spending three years Orebro IK of the Swedish Second Division.

In 172 NHL games, Molin scored 33 goals and 98 points.
