Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Vic Myles
Defenseman Vic Myles played in two Memorial Cup tournaments with his hometown Moose Jaw Cubs in 1932 and 1933 before moving on to the Senior League where he suited up for Moose Jaw and the North Battleford Beavers over the next six years.

Myles, a rather imposing figure 6'1" and 220 pounds, was given the opportunity to play hockey at a higher level in 1939-40 when he earned a roster spot with the Philadelphia Ramblers of the IAHL. He then suited up for almost three years with New Haven of the AHL before being traded to the NHL's New York Rangers in November 1942. The deal gave Myles his one and only shot at playing in the NHL, dressing for 45 games where he contributed offensively with six goals and 15 points and getting the once in a lifetime opportunity to play with the likes of Lynn Patrick and Bryan Hextall.

After his stint in the Big Apple, Myles was somewhat homesick and decided to return to Saskatchewan where he played for one year. He missed the 1944-45 season during World War Two but was back on the blades the following year with the Tulsa Oilers of the USHL. He played another five years of competitive hockey retiring after the 1950-51 season while with the Regina Caps of the WCMHL. In 1951-52 he coached the Moose Jaw Canucks of the same league.
