Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jimmy Orlando
Jimmy Orlando played 199 games in the NHL over six seasons, all with the Detroit red Wings.

Orlando began in the Montreal organization, playing with the Montreal Victorias from 1933 to 1935. He also played for the Montreal Senior Canadiens before getting a crack at the NHL with the Red Wings in 1936-37 when he dressed for nine games.

Orlando's most prolific year in the NHL was 1940-41 when he tallied 11 points in the full 48-game schedule. He was also not adverse to the rough stuff, twice going over 100 minutes in penalties in a season. On two other occasions he just missed the century mark, notching 99 minutes in the sin bin.

Orlando last played with the Red Wings in 1942-43, missing two years of hockey during World War Two. When he returned to the ice, Orlando joined the Valleyfield Braves of the QSHL in the fall of 1945. He also played with the Montreal Royals, retiring after the 1950-51 season.
