Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ernie Roche
Ernie Roche was born February 4, 1930 in Montreal, Quebec. A member of the Montreal Jr. Canadiens of the Quebec Junior Hockey League for four seasons, Roche was a Memorial Cup champion in 1950 before he made his NHL debut during the 1950-51 season.

Although he spent the majority of the season with the American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mohawks, Roche played in his first NHL game with the Montreal Canadiens during the 1950-51 season. In four games with the Canadiens, Roche was held pointless, while being assessed one minor penalty.

Roche's four games with the Montreal Canadiens during the 1950-51 season where to be his only games, as once the 1951-52 season began, Ernie Roche had joined the AHL's Buffalo Bisons before finishing his season with the Pacific Coast Hockey League's Victoria Cougars.

Roche returned to Victoria for the 1952-53 and 1953-54 seasons, with the league now known as the Western Hockey League and played in five games with the Montreal Royals of the Quebec Hockey League during the 1953-54 season.

In 1954-55, Roche reunited with his Royals teammates before being claimed by the AHL's Springfield Indians in the 1955 Inter-League Draft. Splitting his time during the 1955-56 season with Springfield and the QHL's Shawinigan Cataracts, Roche returned to the Royals the following year, and played in one game with the Hull-Ottawa Canadiens of the Eastern Ontario Senior Hockey League.

For two more seasons Ernie Roche was a member of the Montreal Royals before becoming a member of the Eastern Professional Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves in 1959-60. After only five games into his second season with Sudbury, Roche joined the International Hockey League's Milwaukee Falcons before ending his season and his career with the Nova Scotia Senior Hockey League's Windsor Maple Leafs.

Throughout his playing career, Ernie Roche played in four NHL games, all with the Montreal Canadiens.
