Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jyrki Seppa
Defenceman Jyrki Seppa played 13 games for the Winnipeg Jets in 1983-84. He was blessed with fine puck handling skills and hockey sense but was most comfortable playing in Europe.

The native of Tampere, Finland was chosen 43rd overall by Winnipeg in 1981 after playing strongly for Ilves and the Finnish entry at the World Junior championships. After a year with the powerful Jokerit club in Helsinki, Seppa ventured to North America.

Seppa's NHL experience was shortlived but he did enjoy two solid years with the AHL's Sherbrooke Jets. He eventually returned home and retired in 1986 after one last season with Jokerit.
