Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Scott Shaunessy
Scott Shaunessy, a versatile player that excelled at both left wing and defense was born on January 22nd 1964 in Newport, Rhode Island. Shaunessy was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques just before he began a four-year collegiate career at Boston University. After completing his fourth season he immediately graduated to the National Hockey League.

Shaunessy played three games with the Nordiques toward the end of the 1986-87 schedule. During his three game run Shaunessy was unable to crack the score sheet. The following year he spent in the minor leagues honing his game and he returned to the NHL level the next season. Shaunessy played four games during the 1988-89 campaign but again was unable to register a point. He finished that season and spent part of the next one with the Halifax Citadels, Quebec's farm club.

Midway through the 1989-90 season Shaunessy left the Citadels and moved on to the International Hockey League where he toiled until 1993 when he retired from the game.
