Defenceman Don Spring played parts of four years with the Winnipeg Jets in the early 80s. He was a decent positional player who could move the puck effectively up ice.

Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Spring spent three years at the University of Alberta before signing on with the Canadian national team. He notched 24 points in 51 exhibition games then played for his country at the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics.

In May, 1980 the young blueliner signed with the Winnipeg Jets as a free agent. He played all 80 games as a rookie on the woeful club and was a regular the next two years as the team became more competitive. After spending most of the 1983-84 season in the AHL Spring played a year with EV Essen of Germany before retiring.
