Right-winger Brian Stapleton played one game for the Washington Capitals in 1975-76. He was a fine playmaker who could also battle well for the puck in the corners and the slot.
Born in Fort Erie, Ontario Stapleton spent three years at Brown University before turning pro with the Fort Wayne Komets of the IHL in 1974-75. He was signed by Washington to a three game tryout in October, 1975. After dressing for one game he was dispatched to the minors and recorded consecutive 20-goal seasons with the IHL's Dayton Gems before retiring in 1977.
