Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Frank Sullivan
Frank "Sully" Sullivan played a few games for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Black Hawks in the 40s and 50s. He was a hard working defender in his own zone that could play the point effectively on the power play.

The Toronto native played junior with the hometown Marlboros and Oshawa Generals before moving up to the senior Marlies in 1949-50. That same year he was also recalled for one NHL contest with the Maple Leafs. After spending a year with the St. Michael's Monarchs of the OHA senior loop, Sullivan played his first full pro season with the AHL's Pittsburgh Hornets in 1951-52.

In May, 1954, Sullivan's rights were acquired by the Chicago Black Hawks. He dressed for one game in the Windy City in 1954-55 but otherwise enjoyed a fine year with the AHL's Buffalo Bisons. The solid reaguards was one of the best at his position in the AHL and was maned to the league's first all-star team once and second all-star team on two occasions. Sullivan retired in 1959 after spending a year with the Springfield Indians.
