Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jim Watson
Jim Watson was born June 28, 1943 in Malatric, Quebec. After two seasons with the OHA-Jr Hamilton Red Wings, Watson made his NHL debut with the Detroit Red Wings during the 1963-64 season.

Although he made his NHL debut with Detroit, Watson went on to spend the majority of the 1963-64 season with the CPHL's Cincinnati Wings and over the course of the next six seasons, the Malatric, QC native split his time between Detroit and numerous minor league teams.

After parts of seven seasons in the Detroit organization, Watson was claimed by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1970 Expansion Draft. Upon his arrival with the Sabres, Watson went on to anchor the club's blue line for two seasons before being claimed by the Los Angeles Sharks in the 1972 WHA General Player Draft.

Watson went on to play parts of two seasons in LA before he was dealt to the Chicago Cougars in the latter stages of the 1973-74 season. After a brief stint in Chicago, Watson was claimed by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1975 WHA Dispersal Draft and subsequently called it a career following the 1975-76 season.
