Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- John Wilkinson
Defenceman John Wilkinson played nine games for the Boston Bruins in 1943-44. He spent most of his career as a senior hockey player where he supplied grit and a bit of offense.

The Ottawa native played junior with the hometown Rideaus before moving up to the city's senior loop with the well known New Edinburghs. After playing the 1934-35 season with the senior Senators, Wilkinson spent two years in Britain with the Wembley Canadians and Monarchs.

After his sojourn into the UK, Wilkinson returned to Ottawa and spent four years with the Senators. During World War II he played for the Halifax Navy and Volants as well as the Ottawa Commandos. He also saw brief action with the Boston Bruins who were short of players during these difficult times.
