Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Burr Williams
Burton (Burr) Williams played a few games for three different NHL clubs in the 30s. He was a decent playmaking defenceman who could also take the body in his own zone.

Born in Okemah, Oklahoma, Williams spent several years in the American Hockey Association with the Duluth Hornets, Tulsa Oilers and St. Louis Flyers. He played one NHL game for the Red Wings in 1933-34 while serving as a regular with the IAHL's Detroit Olympics. He then split the next season between the St. Louis Eagles, Boston Bruins and the Olympics. In 1935-36 the solid rearguard was selected to the IAHL second all-star team.

Over the next six years Williams toiled chiefly in the AHA before retiring in 1941. His best year was 1939-40 when he counted 21 points and played solid defence on the Tulsa Oilers.
