Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Rudy Zunich
Rudy Zunich was born November 24, 1910 in Calumet, Michigan. Before signing as a free agent with the Detroit Red Wings to a three-game contract in the fall of 1943, he spent the previous seven seasons as a member of the Detroit Holzbaugh Ford (1934-1941) and one season with the Detroit Parisclean (1941-42) of the Michigan-Ontario Hockey League.

From 1934 to 1940, Zunich and the Detroit Holzbaugh Ford finished first in the Michigan-Ontario Hockey League before relinquishing that honour in 1940-41 to the Windsor Spitfires.

Zunich was out of hockey for the entire 1942-43 season because of military service. The 1943-44 season saw Zunich play two games for the Detroit Red Wings where he was held pointless in his only two career NHL games.
