Defenceman Mario Larocque played five games with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1998-99. He was a talented playmaker who could also abrasively in his own zone.

Born in Montreal, Larocque was chosen 16th overall by Tampa in 1996. He returned to junior and registered 50 points and 155 penalty minutes for the Hull Olympiques of the QMJHL and helped the team win the Memorial Cup. In addition to his five game look with the Lightning, Larocque spent most of his rookie year as a pro with the Cleveland Lumberjacks of the IHL. He then spent two years with the Detroit Vipers then signed as a free agent with the Buffalo Sabres in the hope of returning to the NHL.
