Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Nick Stajduhar
Defenseman Nick Stajduhar played two games for the Edmonton Oilers in 1995-96. He was a talented offensive blueliner who enjoyed a fine amateur career though his pro achievements fell short of expectations.

Born in Kitchener, Ontario Stajduhar was taken 16th overall by the Oilers in 1993 after notching 60 points for the OHA's London Knights. He returned to junior and exploded for 34 goals and helped Canada win the gold medal at the World Junior Championships.

The young rearguard settled in with the AHL's Cape Breton Oilers in 1994-95 then signed on with the Canadian national team the next year. He was recalled to the Oilers for a couple of games then returned to the minors. Injuries and consistency soon began to plague Stajduhar's career as he bounced around the minors in the late 90s.
