Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Chris Armstrong
Chris Armstrong was born June 26, 1975 in Regina, Saskatchewan. The third round, 57th overall selection of the Florida Panthers in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, Armstrong is a graduate of the WHL's Moose Jaw Warriors.

A dependable blueliner with offensive skill, Armstrong went on to play four seasons in Moose Jaw, registering 139 points (30-109-139) while seeing limited action with the IHL's Cincinnati Cyclones in both 1993-94 and 1994-95.

After getting a taste of professional hockey the two previous years, Armstrong joined the AHL's Carolina Monarchs in 1995-96 and went on to play two seasons with the club before moving back to the IHL in 1997-98. Back in the IHL, Armstrong continued to hone his skills and would be claimed by the Nashville Predators in the 1998 Expansion Draft. Armstrong continued to provide a solid offensive game in the minors and impressed the San Jose Sharks organization in 1999 to sign him as a free-agent.

In the summer of 2000, Armstrong was acquired by the Minnesota Wild and went on to play his first three NHL games with the club, while seeing most of his action with the IHL's Cleveland Lumberjacks. Following a one year stint with the Wild, the former Warrior signed as a free-agent with the New York Islanders before opting to bring his game overseas in 2002-03.

In 2003-04, Armstrong joined his sixth NHL organization, when he signed as a free-agent with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. After his brief stint in Europe, Armstrong went to play the majority of the 2003-04 season with the club's AHL affiliate in Cincinnati, while playing a handful of games with the parent club.

Armstrong signed as a free agent with Ingolstadt of the German League in April of 2004.
