Bert Robertsson was born June 30, 1974 in Sodertalje, Sweden. The 8th choice, 254th overall of the Vancouver Canucks in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, Robertsson came to North America in the summer of 1995, after spending the previous year as a member of Sodertalje SK in Sweden.

The 1995-96 season saw Robertsson assigned to Vancouver's American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse where he played for two full seasons before making his NHL debut with the Canucks during the 1997-98 season.

In 30 games with the Canucks in 1997-98, Bert Robertsson scored his first NHL goal and finished the season with two goals and four assists for six points while spending the other half of his season with Syracuse.

Robertsson's 1998-99 season was very similar to his previous campaign, splitting his time once again with the Canucks and the Crunch. Following two seasons in the Canucks organisation, the Edmonton Oilers signed Bert Robertsson as a free agent. Robertsson spent one season with Oilers organisation, splitting his time with Edmonton and the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL before the Columbus Blue Jackets selected him in the 2000 Expansion Draft.

Having never played for Columbus, Bert Robertsson found himself in the International Hockey League with the Houston Aeros for whom he played in only 14 games before joining the IHL's Milwaukee Admirals for ten. Robertsson joined the New York Rangers organisation after his stops in Houston and Milwaukee, playing in two games with the Rangers while spending the remainder of his 2000-01 season with the team's AHL affiliate in Hartford.

When the 2000-01 season began, Bert Robertsson returned to Milwaukee, now of the AHL before joining the AHL's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks after only 14 games in Milwaukee.

The Swedish defenceman has played in 121 career NHL games, and has accounted for four goals and ten assists for 14 points.
