Defenceman Dimitri Yakushin played a couple of games for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1999-00. He was a solid playmaker who could take the body but spent most of his pro career in the minors.

Born in Sverdlovsk, USSR, Yakushin joined the Ontario Junior C Pembroke Kings in 1995-96 then played with the Edmonton Ice and Regina Pats of the WHL. He was taken 140th overall by the Maple Leafs in 1996 and became a regular in St. John's apart from the occasional recall as an injury replacement or stand-by.
