Defenceman Jeff Libby played one game with the New York Islanders in 1997-98. He was a solid positional player who utilized his 6'3", 215lb. size to ward off enemy forwards. Most of his success came in college and the minor leagues.

Libby spent three years at the University of Maine in his home state before signing as a free agent with the Islanders in May, 1997. In addition to his one game in the NHL, he spent his first pro season with the AHL's Kentucky Thoroughblades and the Utah Grizzlies of the IHL. He retired after playing a handful of contests with the AHL's Lowel Lock Monsters in 1998-99.
