Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Kip Brennan
Kip Brennan was born August 27, 1980 in Kingston, Ontario. The 4th choice, 103rd overall selection of the Los Angeles Kings in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Brennan is a graduate of the Ontario Hockey League with stops in Windsor and Sudbury.

Referred to as a "tough, heavyweight presence", by Manchester Monarchs head coach Bruce Boudreau, Brennan played five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League before making his professional debut in 2000-01 with the AHL's Lowell Lock Monsters. The 6'4" 222lbs forward from Kingston, Ontario played in 23 games with Lowell before he was sent back to Sudbury.

After having experienced life in the AHL the previous year, Brennan was better prepared entering the 2001-02 season. Playing in 44 games with the Kings AHL affiliate in Manchester, Brennan racked up over 240 PIM and with his aggressive style of play on the ice impressed enough of the Kings brass to earn a call up to the parent club during the season. Over the course of the next two seasons, Brennan spent the majority of his playing time with Manchester, while seeing limited action with the parent club before being traded to the Atlanta Thrashers at the 2004 trade deadline.

Brennan went on to play one season with the Thrashers organization before being acquired by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the summer of 2005. After competing in only 17 games combined with the Ducks and their AHL affiliate in Portland, Brennan made stops the following season in the AHL with Hershey and Toronto while seeing action in 11 games in the ECHL with Long Beach.

In the off-season, Brennan found himself on the move once again, signing as a free agent with the New York Islanders.
