Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jesse Fibiger
Jesse Fibiger was born April 4, 1978 in Victoria, British Columbia. The seventh round, 178th overall selection of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Fibiger is a graduate of WCHAs Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.

Prior to joining Minnesota-Duluth in 1997-98, the Victoria B.C. native played for Victoria in the BCJHL. A stay at home defenceman, Fibiger spent four seasons with the UMD before making his professional debut in 2001-02.

Even though he was originally drafted by Anaheim back in 1998, Fibiger ended up signing as a free agent with the San Jose Sharks in the summer of 2001. Following a solid four years at UMD, Fibiger joined the Sharks AHL affiliate in Cleveland where he led all defenceman in games played with 79 and third among team blueliners in scoring (6-12-18).

Over the course of the next two seasons, Fibiger continued to hone his skills in Cleveland while seeing limited action with the Sharks, before being acquired by the Ottawa Senators in the summer of 2004.
