Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Burke Henry
Burke Henry was born January 21, 1979 in Ste. Rose, Manitoba. The third round, 73rd overall selection of the New York Rangers in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Henry is a graduate of the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings.

An offensively gifted defenceman, Henry spent four seasons in Brandon establishing career highs in goals (18), assists (65) and points (83) during the 1997-98 WHL season before making his professional debut with the Rangers AHL affiliate in Hartford in 1999-00.

Following two seasons in the AHL with Hartford, Henry found his way to the AHL's Saint John Flames where he spent one season before signing with the Chicago Blackhawks prior to the 2002-03 season. In his first season with the Blackhawk organization, Henry finished second in defenceman scoring with the team's AHL affiliate in Norfolk, impressing the Chicago brass enough to warrant 16 games with the parent club during the regular season. The former Wheat King went on to play two seasons with the Blackhawk organization before joining the Florida Panthers in the summer of 2004.
