Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Sascha Goc
Sascha Goc was born April 14, 1979 in Calw, Germany. The sixth round, 159th overall selection of the New Jersey Devils in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Goc honed his skills with Schwenningen of the DEL before making his North American debut in 1998-99.

A two-time member of Germany's World Junior team (1997-1998) and a member of its National Team (1998), Goc joined New Jersey's AHL affiliate in Albany in 1998-99 and went on to play parts of three seasons before making his NHL debut with the parent club during the 2001-02 season. The 2000-01 season was a career year for Goc with Albany, as he tallied 39 points (10-29-39) in 55 games and went on to play eleven games with New Jersey. Over the course of the next two seasons, Goc split his time with Albany and New Jersey before being dealt to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the early stages of the 2001-02 season. Upon his arrival in Tampa Bay, Goc saw action in nine games with the Lightning before spending the remainder of the season with the team's AHL affiliate in Springfield.

After four years in North America, Goc opted to return to Germany for the 2002-03 season.

In international competition, Goc represented Germany in the 2006 Winter Olympics.
