Goalie Bruce Hoffort played briefly with the Philadelphia Flyers in the 80s and 90s. He also toiled for a short time in the minors after an excellent amateur career.

Born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan Hoffort starred at Lake Superior State for two seasons. He totaled 50 wins in 75 appearances over this span and was named to the CCHA first all-star team in 1988 and 1989. After leading the Lakers to the NCAA title in 1988, Hoffort was named the MVP of the NCAA championship tournament and placed on the competition's all-star squad.

Hoffort signed with the Philadelphia Flyers in June, 1989 and enjoyed a solid rookie season as a pro with the AHL's Hershey Bears. He also posted a 3-0-2 record in a brief recall to Philly. Over the next two years he battled injuries and consistency while toiling in the AHL and IHL. Hoffort retired after playing 26 games for the San Diego Gulls of the "I" in 1991-92.
