Neil Little, born December 18, 1971 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, chose the U.S. college route to further his NHL career. After his first of four seasons with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of the ECAC, Little was a late round selection of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1991 Entry Draft. Neil finished his college career at RPI with an NCAA Second Team All-American selection in 1993 and was a Hobey Baker Award finalist in 1994.
Little began his professional career in 1993-94 and went to spend eight seasons in the minor leagues waiting for his shot at the NHL. He finally got it on March 28, 2002 in a 4-1 loss to Carolina, a game in which Little picked up ten minutes in penalties.
During the 2003-04 season, Little's tenth with the Flyer organization, he went on to make his second NHL start while continuing to shoulder the load with the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms.
