Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Danny Lorenz
Goalie Danny Lorenz played parts of three seasons with the New York Islanders in the early 90s. He was a top junior player who became a reliable workhorse in the minors.

Born in Murrayville, BC, Lorenz won 100 games over a four-year span with the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds and was named to the league's first all-star team in 1989 and 1990. He was drafted 58th overall by the Islanders in 1988 and played a couple of games for the team in 1990-91. During his first three pro seasons he was chiefly used in the AHL and East Coast League since the parent club went with Jeff Hackett as Glenn Healy's reserve.

In June, 1994, Lorenz signed as a free agent with the Florida Panthers. He was strictly a farmhand behind NHL regulars John Vanbiesbrouck and Mark Fitzpatrick. Over this time Lorenz notched at least 24 wins four straight years with the IHL's Cincinnati Cyclones and Milwaukee Admirals and also worked in the AHL and WCHL.
