Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Dave Gatherum
Dave Gatherum played three games for the Detroit Red Wings in 1953-54. He was best known as a reliable backstopper in junior, the minors and senior hockey circles.

The native of Fort William, Ontario played junior hockey with the local Hurricanes of the TBJHL. He then spent three years bouncing between the QHL, AHL, WHL and Detroit. When he tired of the grand tour associated with the minor pro lifestyle, Gatherum joined the Kelowna Packers of the Okanagan Senior League in British Columbia. He was workhorse there for four seasons before retiring in 1959.
