Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Harrison Gray
Netminder Harrison Gray made it into one NHL game with the Detroit Red Wings in 1963-64. He was better known as a workhorse in the minors, particularly the Eastern League.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Gray played in the AJHL with the Edmonton Oil Kings. He then spent parts of two years with the WHL's Edmonton Flyers before playing two periods for Detroit. His short NHL tenure came about when he replaced the injured Terry Sawchuk at the start of the second period during a 7-3 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on November 28, 1963.

Beginning in 1964-65, Gray enjoyed five years of regular work in the EHL. In 1967-68 he won 30 games in 72 starts for the Florida Rockets. The veteran puck stopper retired in 1970 after playing one year in the Alberta Senior league with the Drumheller Miners.
