Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Percy Jackson
Netminder Percy Jackson played professionally for over 15 years but only a fraction of that time was spent in the NHL. His big league tenure took place with the Boston Bruins and both New York teams.

Born in Cranmore, Alberta, Jackson started his career with the Trail Smoke Eaters in 1927-28. Over the next three years he started with the Vancouver Lions of the PCHL where he led the league in wins twice as well as shutouts and goals against average.

Jackson saw his first NHL action with the Boston Bruins in 1931-32 and posted a 1-1-1 record. The parent club sent him down to the Boston Cubs of the CanAm League where he was a fan favourite for three years. On March 18, 1934, he was loaned by Boston to the New York Americans and played in place of the injured Roy Worters. Prior to the start of the next season he was traded to the Rangers and gave up eight goals in his only start.

Other than two periods of work for the Bruins in 1935-36, he played the rest of his career in the minors with the Vancouver Lions and Portland Buckaroos of the PCHL, the Tulsa Oilers of the AHA, and two Vancouver senior clubs, the RCAF Seahawks and the Maple Leafs. Jackson's long hockey journey came to an end after the 1943-44 season.
