Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Bobby Taylor
Bobby Taylor was a solid NHL backup goalie for five NHL seasons. He was a solid junior and minor leaguer who was best known as Bernie Parent's understudy on the Philadelphia Flyers in the mid-1970s.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Taylor spent the 1964-65 season in the AJHL with the Edmonton Oil Kings and in the OHA with the St. Catharines Black Hawks. He sat out the next year before joining the senior Calgary Spurs. Taylor signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers and spent three full years developing in the minors.

Beginning in 1971-72, Taylor was part-time player with Philadelphia. He played a few games in the AHL but spent most of the early '70s practicing and preparing for the odd start. In March 1976, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins for fellow netminder Gary Inness and played only two games before retiring.
