Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Vincent Tremblay
Netminder Vince Tremblay played parts of five seasons in the NHL as a reserve. He was a top junior but never received the required time to develop in the minors.

The Quebec City native played two years with the junior Remparts before he was selected 72nd overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1979. After recording a 4.56 goals against mark in 66 games in 1978-79, the talented youngster was placed on the QMJHL's second all-star team. He spent most of his first two years developing in the AHL with the New Brunswick Hawks. In 1980-81, he led the league with a 3.24 goals against average.

Along with several other young players, Tremblay suffered through a difficult season with Toronto in 1981-82. He posted a 10-18-8 record and saw more than his share of rubber behind the club's weak defence. He never recovered from the shellshock and was trade to the Pittsburgh Penguins prior to the 1983-84 season. Unfortunately for Tremblay, he played four games behind a defence that was every bit as pitiful as Toronto's. He retired in 1985 after playing 33 games for the AHL's Rochester Americans.
