Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ryan Bach
Goaltender Ryan Bach was born on October 21, 1973 in Sherwood Park, Alberta. He spent four years at Colorado College before joining the Detroit Red Wings organization in 1996.

Bach, who posted a 51-19-8 record in his collegiate career, split his first pro season between Adirondack, Toledo, and Utica in the minors.

Bach was traded by the Red Wings early in the 1997-98 season to the Los Angeles Kings and was sent to the minors again, this time the Houston Aeros of the International Hockey League. However, his trade to the Kings did result in Bach getting his NHL chance. He played three games with Los Angeles, but was unable to record a win.

Though Bach was unable to impress at the NHL level, he did continue his career in minor pro, spending the next three seasons bouncing around the American Hockey League and the International Hockey League. Bach took his career in a new direction in 2001-02 when he took his skills to Europe, signing with the Sheffield Steelers of the British Elite League.
