Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Alex Frolov
Alexander Frolov was born June 19, 1982 in Moscow, Russia. The first choice, 20th overall selection of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Frolov was a member of Krylja Sovetov of the Russian Elite League before making his NHL debut with the Kings in 2002-03.

The rookie of the year in the Russian Super League in 2001-02, Frolov helped his team ascend from the Upper League to Russia's top hockey league, the Super League and was a key member of Russia's Gold medal Russian team at the 2002 World Junior Championships.

In 2002-03 Frolov made his NHL debut with Los Angeles tallying 31 points (14-17-31) in 79 games and would better those totals in his sophomore year. An offensively gifted forward, Frolov finished the 2003-04 season with 48 points (24-24-48) and was named later that spring to Russia's entry for the 2004 World Cup of Hockey.

Frolov represented Russia in the 2006 Winter Olympics registering a point in three games.

In Los Angeles Frolov proved himself to be a brilliant though streaky scoring threat. He posted two, 30-goal seasons, though in 2009-10 his goal total dipped to just 19.

As an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2010, Frolov inked a one-year deal to join the New York Rangers.
