Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Alexander Kharitonov
Although small by NHL standards, Alexander Kharitonov impressed the Tampa Bay Lightning enough with his productivity over three seasons for Moscow Dynamo that they made him their third round selection in the 2000 Entry Draft.

Born March 30, 1976 in Moscow, Alexander debuted with Tampa Bay in 2000-2001, collecting 22 points as a rookie rightwinger. In 2001-2002, Kharitonov moved to the New York Islanders, but after a handful of games, opted to return to Russia to play with Omsk Avangard.

On the international stage, Kharitonov is a three-time member of Russia's World Championship team (1999, 2001 and 2005).
