Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Greg Zanon
A solid defenseman who can chip in offensively, Zanon played three seasons in the BCHL with stops in Victoria and South Surrey before enrolling at the University of Nebraska-Omaha in the fall of 1999.

The Burnaby, B.C. native went to play four seasons of collegiate hockey registering 107 points (77-30-107) while capturing CCHA First Team All-Star (2001), CCHA's Best Offensive Defenseman (2001), CCHA Second Team All-Star (2002) and NCAA West Second Team All-American (2001 and 2002) honours. Following an impressive collegiate career, Zanon joined the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals in the fall of 2003 and was a key contributor in the club's run to the 2004 Calder Cup championship.

For the next several seasons Zanon would split time between the AHL and the Nashville Predators or the NHL.

On July 1, 2009, Zanon signed on with the Minnesota Wild as an unrestricted free agent. Over the next two season he would provide the Wild with a stable defensive presence on the back end.

On February 27, 2012, Zanon's time in Minnesota would come to an end. He was traded to the Boston Bruins in exchange for Steve Kampfer.
